Vidalista and similar tadalafil brands aren’t FDA-approved, and strengths such as 40, 60 and 80 mg are above the US maximum. How approved tadalafil compares.
What is Vidalista?
Vidalista (Centurion Laboratories), Tadalista (Fortune Healthcare), Tadacip (Cipla) and Tadarise are brand names for tadalafil, the active ingredient in Cialis, made in India for markets outside the US. They are not FDA-approved, so licensed US pharmacies can't sell them, and their quality and strength haven't been checked to US standards.
Strengths above the US maximum
Vidalista is sold in strengths such as 40 mg, 60 mg and 80 mg. In the US, the maximum recommended as-needed dose of tadalafil is 20 mg once a day. Higher doses don't make tadalafil more effective for most men, but they do increase the risk of side effects such as headache, back pain, dizziness and low blood pressure.
Approved tadalafil: two ways to take it
| As needed | Once daily | |
|---|---|---|
| Usual strengths | 10 mg or 20 mg | 2.5 mg or 5 mg |
| When to take | At least 30 minutes before sex | Same time every day |
| How long it works | Up to 36 hours | Continuous |
| Also treats | – | Urinary symptoms of an enlarged prostate (5 mg) |
Your prescriber will recommend the option and strength that suit you. We sell FDA-approved tadalafil 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg, dispensed after our pharmacist verifies your prescription.
Safety
Don't take tadalafil if you use nitrates for chest pain or riociguat. Tell your prescriber if you take alpha-blockers or other blood pressure medicines, and about any heart, liver or kidney problems. Avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol. Get help right away for chest pain, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, or sudden vision or hearing loss.
Products sold without a prescription – including "Super Vidalista", which adds dapoxetine – skip these safety checks. See Kamagra, Cenforce and other generic Viagra brands for more on combination pills.
