Some medicines are widely sold online but can’t be legally or safely sold by a US online pharmacy. Which ones, why, and what to do instead.
Many websites sell medicines to US customers that a licensed US pharmacy can't legally or safely supply. We only sell FDA-approved products, and prescription medicines only against a prescription our pharmacist has verified. These are the ones people most often ask us about.
Opioid pain medicines: tapentadol (Aspadol), tramadol and others
Tapentadol (sold as Aspadol and Tapal outside the US, and as Nucynta in the US) and tramadol are opioids. They are controlled substances with strict federal rules on prescribing and dispensing, because of the risk of addiction, overdose and death – especially with alcohol or other sedating medicines. Opioids sold online without a proper prescription are a common source of counterfeit pills. We don't sell opioids. For everyday aches and fever, ibuprofen and acetaminophen are available without a prescription; talk to your doctor about ongoing pain.
Testosterone and anabolic steroids: Sustanon, Deca-Durabolin, testosterone gel
Testosterone and nandrolone (Deca-Durabolin) are Schedule III controlled substances in the US. Using them without medical supervision can cause heart problems, blood clots, liver damage, infertility and mood changes. If you think you have low testosterone, a doctor can test your levels and discuss treatment.
Clenbuterol
Clenbuterol is not approved for human use in the US. It is sometimes sold for weight loss or bodybuilding, but it can cause dangerous heart rhythms, tremor and high blood pressure. For FDA-approved weight management, see our guide to orlistat.
Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine for COVID-19
Neither ivermectin (sold as Covimectin, Iverheal and other brands) nor hydroxychloroquine is authorized by the FDA to prevent or treat COVID-19, and high doses of ivermectin can be harmful. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about approved treatments.
Isotretinoin (Accutane)
Isotretinoin causes severe birth defects, so in the US it can only be dispensed through the iPLEDGE program. See our acne treatment guide.
Dapoxetine and combination ED pills
Dapoxetine, and combination pills such as Super P Force that mix it with sildenafil, aren't approved in the US. See Kamagra, Cenforce and other generic Viagra brands.
