About Acetaminophen 500 mg Caplets
Acetaminophen temporarily relieves minor aches and pains and reduces fever. Unlike NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, it does not irritate the stomach, which makes it a common choice for people who can’t take anti-inflammatory pain relievers.
Each caplet contains 500 mg of acetaminophen (extra strength).
How to use
Adults and children 12 years and over: take 2 caplets every 6 hours while symptoms last. Do not take more than 6 caplets in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor. Do not use with any other product that contains acetaminophen.
Always read the label before use. Ask a pharmacist or doctor if you are unsure whether this product is right for you.
Possible side effects
- Side effects are uncommon at the recommended dose
- Severe liver damage may occur if you take more than the maximum daily amount, take it with other acetaminophen products, or drink 3 or more alcoholic drinks a day
- Stop use and ask a doctor if you develop skin reddening, blisters or a rash
