About Clarithromycin 500 mg Tablets
Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic for bacterial infections of the chest, sinuses, throat and skin. It is also used together with other medicines to clear H. pylori, a stomach bacterium that causes ulcers.

How to use
Take exactly as prescribed, usually 1 tablet every 12 hours, with or without food. Tell your doctor and pharmacist about all your medicines – clarithromycin interacts with many, including some statins (such as simvastatin and lovastatin) and colchicine.
Follow the directions on your prescription and the pharmacy label. Ask your prescriber or pharmacist if you have questions.
Possible side effects
- An unusual or metallic taste
- Nausea, diarrhea or stomach pain
- Get help right away for a fast or irregular heartbeat, or severe watery diarrhea
